I draw on my experience from working at a large national CPA firm and use a very similar systematic approach to preparing your taxes. Because I work out of my home, you won't pay the hundreds of dollars that you would with other CPAs. In fact, most of my individual tax clients pay under $100 for their 1040! This is less than H&R Block, and you would be hard-pressed to find a CPA in a Block office.
Let me give you two reasons why individuals and business owners choose independent CPAs (disregarding the cost savings): 1.) YOUR RETURN IS PREPARED BY ME - When you give your information to the partner/manager of a large firm or franchise office, the job is passed to a staff preparer, who is far less experienced. You will likely get a different preparer each year. 2.) CONFIDENTIALITY - At a large accountant's office, your files are stored in a file room and on a computer network that everyone in the firm has access to. Your financial information is extremely personal. I NEVER give information about you to anyone without your express permission.
Out of town customers: mail your information and I'll deduct the costs from your price. I can prepare any state return with your federal.
